Caterpillar Mining Field Representative Development Program - Tech Rep

Caterpillar is hiring for our highly regarded Field Representative Development Program, which is designed to build employee skill sets through customized development focused on supporting Caterpillar dealers and customers.  When you join this program, you will be part of a globally based team participating in rotational assignments focused on developing your industry, product, application, marketing, and technical knowledge - all with an intense focus on Caterpillar’s mining customers.  Each person hired into the Field Representative Development Program is assigned a coach to help guide your progression through the Program. You will receive personalized onboarding, soft-skill, sales and technical training specific to your field assignments, and participate in a variety of rotations across the business to ensure you have the means necessary to achieve your career goals.

This particular position will support Caterpillar’s Resource Industries Sales, Services and Technology (RISST) Division.  RISST is a one-stop shop for Caterpillar employees who are committed to delivering Caterpillar’s exceptional value throughout surface and underground mine sites.  The team is passionate about meeting the needs of our customers against the background of rapidly evolving sustainability goals within the mining industry, and we are vigilant about enhancing our worksite execution through superior customer service, and new innovative solutions, services and technology offerings. Required Qualifications:

  • Must have accredited university in one of the following degree programs: Sales/Marketing, Science, Engineering, or closely related field

  • Must have an advanced level of proficiency in both written and spoken English

  • Must be willing to travel 25%

  • Must be willing to travel to United States from mid October for one month

  • Must have a Valid Passport or able to obtain one before October

  • Must be willing and able to relocate domestically/internationally based upon business need

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Relevant work experience related to Mining or interest in mining

  • Good soft skills and some analytical skills to interpret and understand data

  • Ability to influence change and experience in stakeholder management

  • Prior leadership experience. This may be within a student, volunteer or extracurricular organization

  • Good ability to work independently and to communicate with others in a variety of work environments

  • Ability to guide change and solve problems

  • Good sales and technical aptitude

Field Representative Development Program - PSOR Melbourne

 

About the Position:
As a Product Support Operations Representative (PSOR), you will commence a development program in which you will learn the fundamentals to succeed in your career at Caterpillar from senior leaders, subject matter experts and will be provided with business skills development training. Following the training program, you will enter rotational assignments tailored to your career path.

These assignments will be focused on:
•    Developing industry and product application knowledge as well as a strong understanding of the Caterpillar Dealer network.
•    Building on your current skill set to help prepare you for your role as a PSOR and future positions within the organization.
Upon completion of your development program and in your capacity as PSOR, you will collaborate with dealers to build capability, drive process improvement and execute Product Support (Service Operations) related strategies. You will connect data to identify opportunities and develop solutions that support dealers in meeting customer needs.
Whilst applicants will be considered from across Australia, you may be required to relocate upon completion of your developmental period. Company support is provided with relocation.

Required Qualification, Skills & Experience: 

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills

  • Must be willing to travel up to 30%+

  • Demonstrated technical and non-technical aptitude

Industry Development Officer  Internship Opportunity

The Society of Automotive Engineers Australasia (SAE-A) is looking for a university student interested in an internship for a period of 3 months. The number of hours per week will be negotiated based on the candidate's availability and all work can be performed remotely but office attendance is encouraged if possible. The role is not a paid position.

Tasks will be assigned to assist the SAE-A with research and development, growing SAE-A’s corporate contact lists particularly in South Australia.

Tasks:

  • Research existing and emerging technology companies in mobility engineering in South Australia, and create a list of primary contacts;
  • This research applies to industry sectors in: autonomous, electric and combustion engine technologies, defence, aerospace and aviation, rail and rolling stock, heavy vehicles (on and off road), marine engineering and specialty vehicles.
  • Explore opportunities for SAE-A to extend its reach through publication articles and build a list of potential corporate contacts.

 

Requirements:

  • 6 months volunteer role (unpaid)
  • Availability is flexible (1-2 days per week)
  • Work with a small team in an excellent office environment
  • Reports to General Manager and other staff members as required.

  • Astute, creative and strategic;
