Premcar has announced a new collaboration with Mitsubishi Motors Australia, unveiling the Mitsubishi Triton Raider as its first enhancement program with the Japanese brand.
Based on the MY2026 Triton GSR dual-cab 4x4 ute, the new Raider is a rally raid-inspired flagship model engineered specifically for Australian conditions. It features a reworked suspension package, unique alloy wheels, all-terrain tyres and added underbody protection, with all secondary manufacturing completed by Premcar in Melbourne.
Premcar CEO Bernie Quinn said the project was designed to deliver greater driving enjoyment without compromising the Triton’s core capabilities.
“This first-ever Mitsubishi Triton Raider has been developed for even greater driving enjoyment in Australia’s tough conditions,” Quinn said.
“Mitsubishi Motors Australia worked closely with Premcar to create this new top-of-the-range version of the Triton 4x4.”
The locally developed package includes new front springs, front and rear dampers, revised jounce bumpers (bump stops), ROH 18-inch Assault alloy wheels, Bridgestone AT002 all-terrain tyres and a 25mm increase in both ride height and track width.
Additional exterior upgrades include a red front ‘bashplate’, sports bar, side protection bars, unique decals and Raider badging, while the cabin receives branded front-seat headrests and centre console badging.
Premcar said the engineering program covered 40,000 kilometres of development and 7,000 kilometres of testing across Victoria, South Australia, the Northern Territory and New South Wales.
“The result is a fun-to-drive Triton 4x4 dual cab with enhanced driving dynamics on gravel roads, and even greater off-road capability,” Quinn said.
The Triton Raider also draws inspiration from Mitsubishi’s long history in cross-country competition, including victories in the Paris-Dakar Rally and success in the Asia Cross Country Rally.
The new Triton Raider is now available to order through authorised Mitsubishi dealers across Australia, with first customer deliveries scheduled to begin in May.
