Cummins innovations star at the 2025 Brisbane Truck Show
29th May 2025

Cementing its place as the predominant transport event in the southern hemisphere, 54,790 people attended the four-day festival, with the Saturday crowd the largest single-day audience in the 58-year history of the event, with Cummins prominently displaying key new technologies.
At the heart of the Cummins display was the Australian reveal of its fully integrated heavy-duty powertrain – a unified system that combines the engine, transmission, axles, and brakes to deliver unmatched performance, efficiency, and uptime.
The complete powertrain features the X15 Euro 6 engine, the Eaton Cummins Endurant 18-speed transmission, and Meritor MT21-165GP axle and braking systems.
The all-encompassing solution is the culmination of years of development and strategic acquisitions, including Meritor and the Eaton Cummins joint venture, positioning Cummins as the preferred full-system provider in the heavy-duty transportation space.
A key feature was the new X15D engine, which delivers 600 hp and 2,360 lb-ft of torque, topping the on-highway product lineup for Cummins.
The design sheds 225 kg over outgoing variants, a significant advantage in cabover applications where front axle tare weight is a consideration.
Another cornerstone of the Cummins stand was the revolutionary HELM™ platform (Higher Efficiency, Lower Emissions, Multiple Fuels), with the X15D sharing its architecture with future variants for natural gas and hydrogen, reinforcing Cummins’ fuel-agnostic approach to decarbonisation.
HELM engines provide a consistent footprint and installation experience across various fuel types, allowing customers to easily adapt to evolving fuel technologies without compromising power or reliability.
Elsewhere, Cummins highlighted the company’s award-winning career and apprenticeship pathways, underscoring its commitment to workforce development and community impact.
