SAE-A welcomes 2025 interns

1st May 2025

Shubham Mathure, Shreyas Ganguly and Anika Paul will join the Society of Automotive Engineers – Australasia for its 2025 intern program to gain valuable knowledge and experience in how a not-for-profit organisation operates.

They will assist in various administrative duties and will learn about a diverse range of activities from running events to producing publications.

Shreyas is a fourth year Aerospace Engineering Student at the University of NSW. Shreyas says he is very passionate about the automotive industry, especially Formula 1 with a keen interest in Aerodynamics and Avionic Systems.

“As a dedicated and passionate Aerospace Engineering student, I am driven by a profound fascination for the intricacies of flight and space exploration,” he says.

“With a solid foundation in engineering principles and a keen interest in cutting-edge technologies, I am committed to pushing the boundaries of aerospace innovation. My academic journey has equipped me with a strong grasp of aerodynamics, propulsion systems, and structural analysis, which I eagerly apply to hands-on projects and simulations.

“I am eager to contribute my knowledge, enthusiasm, and creativity to tackle the challenges that lie ahead in the aerospace industry.”

Another team member, Shubham says he is delighted to join SAE-A as part of the internship program where he is hoping to contribute to research on emerging and existing companies in the electric vehicle and autonomous mobility sectors in Australasia.

Shubham is currently studying a Master of Management degree at The University of Melbourne, with a strong interest in sustainability.

“My background encompasses supply chain management, data analysis, market research, and innovation strategy,” he says.

“I am particularly interested in exploring how sustainable practices can be integrated into vehicle technologies and mobility systems. I look forward to learning from the SAE-A community and supporting the industry’s transition toward cleaner, smarter mobility.”

From the University of Western Australia, Anika is excited to be apart of the transition of SAE-A from mainstream volume production manufacturing of vehicles to the advanced mobility-engineering sector.

Anika Paul is in her penultimate year at UWA, studying Mechanical Engineering and Commerce.

“I am naturally very enthusiastic and curious which has led me down the path of engineering and I have found a love for all things mechanical and anything I can physically get my hands on to try and understand,” she says.

“I have been lucky enough to have had many opportunities to learn and get involved with engineering outside my studies, from vacation work across the resources sector, to being the current president of the mechanical engineering club at my university.”

Anika says one of her passions is competing in the FSAE-A competition as part of the UWA Motorsport team.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to work with SAE-A as part of the internship and learn and grow my understanding of the automotive industry,” she concludes.

SAE-A General Manager Angela Krepcik indicated she is pleased to present an opportunity to all three interns and is looking forward to working with them.

“As a leading industry body it is important that we develop the youth of the sector and we are looking forward to seeing the contribution each of them will make to the SAE-A,” she says.
