Course Overview

An introductory course intended for all engineers and product designers who are new to simulation, or have an intermediate level of knowledge of the use of simulation. Course attendees will gain an understanding of the basics and fundamentals of Finite Element Analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics, including learn how to best prepare CAD geometry to be ready for simulation & meshing (appropriate to the specific requirements of both FEA and CFD), define loads & boundary conditions, apply correct physics and how to interpret & validate your simulation results using accepted best practices.

Course Pre-requisites

A technical education and background are recommended, but an engineering degree is not a prerequisite.

Topics:

FEA:

  • Geometry prep for FEA

  • Linear Analysis

  • Linear Dynamics Analysis

  • Non-linear Contact & Materials

CFD:

  • Geometry prep for CFD

  • Fluent Meshing

  • Modelling Turbulent Flows

  • Modelling Heat Transfer

Who Should attend:

Anyone with an interest in using simulation and virtual testing to improve their product or process design, including novice engineers or those already working with colleagues that actively use simulation software.

Fees
