Gain inspiration and direction for your engineering journey by being guided by women engineers, many of whom worked in the mainstream automotive sector designing and manufacturing vehicles for the Australian and international market. We encourage you to attend this event to hear the stories from women engineers that have embraced their engineering careers post automotive manufacturing.
 

This event will suit all people working in engineering and particularly students wanting to gain insights into the many career options available to them. Your host will be the SAE-A President Elect:

Martha Oplopiadis, Project Delivery, Metro Tunnel Project for Metro Trains Melbourne.

Martha is currently at the helm of the Metro Tunnel Project at Metro Trains Melbourne and has had a rich career in engineering, finance, commercial and project management with companies such as Metro Trains Melbourne, Alstom, General Motors Holden and Ford Motor Company.  She is an accomplished executive, possessing a wealth of experience in policy development, negotiation, governance, engineering, innovation, and the delivery of complex projects for the private and public sector.


Jacqui Lewis, Director, Global Program Delivery, Seeing Machines.

Jacqui spent over 8 years with General Motors Holden after graduating from RMIT University and then over 7 years abroad at General Motors US. Recently returning from the US as Deputy Chief Engineer for General Motors, Jacqui now works for Seeing Machines, a world leader in human-machine interaction and an industry leader in artificial intelligence (AI), that enable machines to see, understand and assist the people who are using them.

Trish Seeger, Asset Program Manager, Yarra Valley Water.

With over 11 years at tier one supplier ZF to the OEM market, working in both Australia and Germany, Trish is now in a totally different industry sector – water management and operations.  With highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, Trish has extensive experience in time management and relationship building especially in extremely challenging working environments. 


Louisa de Vries, Consulting Manager, Bosch Australia Manufacturing Solutions.

Louisa is a mechanical engineer with a passion for manufacturing, technology and innovation. After 18 years at Holden, Louisa moved on to managing electric bus research projects and building a predictive maintenance analytics platform for trains.  Louisa is now the manager of a consulting team at Bosch Australia Manufacturing Solutions, focusing on supporting manufacturers on their pathway of commercialisation, manufacturing strategy, process optimisation or expansion.

Sharon Tay, Signals Control Systems Manager, Metro Trains Melbourne.

After graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Sharon embarked on her career in the oil and gas industry, improving manufacturing processes and deploying enterprise applications. Her project management experience provided her with valuable transferable skills, which lead to a career in the railway industry.  Now working Metro Trains Melbourne, she plays a crucial role in driving the success of numerous projects, ensuring the operability, maintainability, and safety standards of new infrastructure and signalling systems.
