Corporate Awards Criteria

The on-line application form for each category must contain:

  1. Product Description: Provide a clear and concise executive summary of the concept/product/ process/or service;
  2. Technical Detail: Provide a clear technical description demonstrating the engineering features including its unique or significant application in the market;
  3. Objective Data: Significant weighting will be given to the amount of local engineering and development and/or has significantly contributed to the project. The submission should not focus on promotional material and include independent assessment where available.
  4. Market Demographic: Explain what the intent of the product or innovation is, what is the market for the product and who is going to directly benefit. Also explain what are the “unique desirability factors” and who is the ultimate customer. Applicable customer demographics may also be included in this section.
  5. Environmental Benefits and Sustainability: Explain the potential environmental and sustainable attributes and benefits of the product in the market or wider community.
  6. Product Availability: Provide information on the expected timing for availability of the product. Is it fully developed and immediately available or undergoing further evaluation? If not market ready, indicate the time frame in which it is expected to be fully mature and ready for use by potential customers.
  7. Product Life Cycle: Detail the expected life cycle of the product and/or its applicability to a variety of applications. Has the product the potential to be used as a benchmark in the foreseeable future in the industry or within other sectors?
  8. Other Considerations: Highlight any unique or intangible attributes, or other aspects of the product not already covered by earlier sections. 
 

Points will be awarded based on:

  • Quality and clarity of the product description;
  • New, novel or unique aspects of the product or service;
  • Sound engineering principles and processes, and that the product or service truly demonstrates exceptional engineering skills in the sectors listed. Note: this aspect carries significant weight in the judging process;
  • Applicability of the content to the profession of mobility and related engineering sectors; 
  • Recognition of the value of the product to the customer based on cost, price or functionality.
