About Formula SAE-A

Formula SAE-A is a university competition where students design, build and validate in a Formula-style open wheeled race car.  It is a 12 month educational program that the Australian University sector has embraced since its inception in 2000.  Approximately 30 university teams gather in December each year to compete, with a growing interest from the Asia Pacific Region bringing in thousands of spectators.

Formula students have been highly sought after by many businesses, especially those in the automotive sector, because of the skills they bring; not only in engineering but also in management, leadership, teamwork, marketing and finance.  This competition tasks university teams with a real life project as if they were already in the commercial world.  The activity also places them in a strong position to “hit the ground running” at the start of their careers, and is a great story to be able to tell prospective employers.

We invite you to visit: http://www.saea.com.au/formulasaea  for a short video viewing of the event.
